Wild Bill's Rare IROC Z
I recently scored this 1990 IROC Z as my newest toy.  There were only 1294 of these made.  It only has 86K miles on it and is all original except for the alternator that has been replaced.  I put a new set of tires on it and began driving it on my days off and weekends.  There are plenty of little things that need to be done, but for now it's a running driving, work as you go, project.  The one thing I wanted to do was to get a little better sound from the exhaust, so I took the car to a local muffler shop that I had used before and has an impeccable reputation (Muffler King 11118 Garland Rd Dallas Tx 214-328-4669).  It was recommended by them that I go with a Flowmaster set up...which I was in total agreement.  But when they got the car in the air, it became obvious that more of the exhaust needed to be replaced.  Since the car was already there, I had them do a full job on it.  New convertor, new Flowmaster, upgraded from 2 1/4 pipe to 3 inch pipe and some bright shiny new chrome tips.  When they got everything off, it was clear that the cat not only had stuff rattling around in there, but it was almost completely stopped up.  But not any more....now it sounds much better and it has much better throttle response when I stand on the long skinny pedal.  I guess the next thing to work on is the broken bolts that hold the drivers seat in place.....everytime I mash the gas real hard I nearly end up in the back seat.  But if there wasn't something else to fix, it wouldn't be a project, now would it?
